Description
Voglibose is an oral medication used to control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. It works by slowing down the digestion of carbohydrates in the stomach and intestines, which helps to lower the rise in blood sugar levels after a meal.
Direction of Use: Voglibose is usually taken before meals, usually 3 times a day.
Contraindication: Voglibose is contraindicated in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction or stenosis, or severe renal or hepatic impairment.
Doses and Administration: The usual starting dose of Voglibose is 0.2 mg, taken before meals, usually 3 times a day. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 0.6 mg per day, depending on response and tolerability.
Side Effects: The most common side effects of Voglibose include diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, and flatulence.
Interactions: Voglibose may interact with other medications such as acarbose, miglitol, and insulin. Consult with your healthcare provider before using this medication with other drugs.
