Description
Telmisartan & Amlodipine is a combination medication used to lower blood pressure. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). Together, these medications work by relaxing the blood vessels and decreasing the amount of work the heart has to do to pump blood.
Direction of Use:
Telmisartan & Amlodipine is usually taken once a day, with or without food. The usual adult starting dose is 40mg of Telmisartan and 5mg of Amlodipine once a day. The dose may be increased based on individual response and tolerability.
Contraindications:
Telmisartan & Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any component of the medication or any other ACE inhibitors or calcium channel blockers.
Doses and Administration:

Side Effects:
Common side effects of Telmisartan & Amlodipine include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and swelling in the legs and feet. Serious side effects include allergic reactions and liver problems.
Interactions:
Telmisartan & Amlodipine may interact with other medications, including potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements and salt substitutes.
