Description
Hyoscine butylbromide (also known as buscapina) is a medication used to relieve smooth muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and biliary tract.
Direction of Use: It is usually taken orally, but can also be given rectally or intravenously.
Contraindication: Hyoscine butylbromide should not be used in people with obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, or biliary tract, or in people with glaucoma or prostatic hypertrophy.
Doses and Administration: The usual adult oral dose is 20-40mg, three to four times a day. Doses may vary depending on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the medication.
