Description
Dextromethorphan HBr, Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Phenylephrine HCl Syrup is a combination medication that contains three active ingredients: dextromethorphan, chlorpheniramine, and phenylephrine. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant, chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine and phenylephrine is a decongestant.
Direction of Use: Take as directed by a healthcare professional, typically orally.
Contraindication: It should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients. It should not be used in individuals with hypertension or heart disease. It should not be used in individuals who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Doses and Administration: The usual dose for adults and children 12 years and over is 10 ml every 4-6 hours. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.
Side Effects: It may cause drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, and nausea.
