Description
ACECLOFENAC is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
Direction of Use:
ACECLOFENAC is usually taken twice a day with or without food. The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
Contraindication:
ACECLOFENAC is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to the drug, and in patients with active peptic ulcer disease or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Doses and Administration:
The usual adult dose is 100-150 mg per day, divided into two doses. It should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of ACECLOFENAC include stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, and headache. More serious side effects include bleeding from the stomach or intestines, kidney problems, and high blood pressure.
Interactions:
ACECLOFENAC may interact with other medications, such as blood thinners, corticosteroids, and lithium.
Warnings and Precautions:
Prolonged use of ACECLOFENAC may increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. It should be used with caution in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, or a history of stomach or intestinal bleeding.
