ATENOLOL AND CHLORTHALIDONE

Description

ATENOLOL AND CHLORTHALIDONE is a combination medication used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It contains the beta-blocker atenolol and the diuretic chlorothalidone.

Direction of Use:

This medication should be taken as directed by your healthcare provider. The usual adult starting dose is one tablet of atenolol 50 mg and chlorothalidone 25 mg once daily. The dosage may be increased or decreased based on individual response and blood pressure control.

Contraindication:

This medication should not be used in patients with severe heart failure, second or third degree heart block, or severe bradycardia. It should also not be used in patients with an allergy to atenolol or chlorothalidone.
