Description

Basic Information : The medication CODOMOL Tablet contains both codeine and paracetamol. Analgesic (pain reliever) paracetamol acts by preventing the release of specific chemical messengers that are responsible for pain. An opioid analgesic (pain reliever), codeine reduces pain perception by preventing the brain from receiving pain signals.

Dosage & Administration : Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you

This medicine can be swallowed with a whole glass of water

Do not crush or chew the medicine.If you take too much of this medicine, contact your doctor or go to nearest hospital immediately.If you forget to take your medicine, take it as soon as you remember then continue to take it at the usual times

Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

Side Effects : Nausea

Vomiting

Constipation

Dizziness

Sleepiness

Interactions : Increased risk of hepatotoxicity with alcohol.

Enhances the anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins with prolonged use.

Decreased serum concentrations with rifampicin and some anticonvulsants (e.g. phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine)

Warnings & Precautions : are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine

have severe kidney or liver disease.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicineIt is indicated in patients older than 12 years of age
