Description
Cinnarizine (CTZ) is an antihistamine and anti-motion sickness medication. It works by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical that is released in the body during an allergic reaction. It also helps to reduce the symptoms of motion sickness, such as nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. CTZ tablets are usually taken 1-3 times a day, before or after meals. It’s usually used as an anti-emetic, an antihistaminic and a vestibular suppressant. It is not recommended for use in children under 2 years of age. Common side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth, and stomach upset. It should not be used in people who are allergic to cinnarizine or other antihistamines.
