Description

Oxymetazoline HCl 0.5mg is a nasal decongestant used to relieve nasal congestion caused by colds, allergies, and hay fever. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing blood flow and swelling.

Direction of use:

Use as directed by a healthcare professional.

Spray the medication into the nostril(s) as needed, usually every 12 hours. Do not exceed 2 sprays in each nostril per day.

Contraindication:

Do not use this medication if you have a history of high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid problems, diabetes, or glaucoma.

Doses and Administration:

Adults and children over 6 years of age: 2 sprays (0.5mg) in each nostril, not more than 2 times a day

Children under 6 years of age: Consult a healthcare professional

Side effects:

headaches, nausea, sneezing, and a burning or stinging sensation in the nose

If you experience any severe side effects, contact your healthcare professional immediately

Interactions:

This medication may interact with other medications such as MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, and certain blood pressure medications.

Warnings and Precautions:

Do not use for more than 3 days in a row as it may cause rebound congestion.

Consult a healthcare professional if you have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid problems before using this medication.
