Description
Dextromethorphan HBr, Triprolidine HCl, and Phenylephrine HCl is a combination medication used to relieve cough, nasal congestion, and runny nose caused by the common cold, flu, or hay fever. It also used for relief of allergic symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose and throat, and itchy, watery eyes.
Direction of Use:
Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor.
Follow the dosing instructions on the label or your prescription.
Do not take more than directed.
Contraindication:
This medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have:
Allergic to Dextromethorphan, Triprolidine or Phenylephrine.
Glaucoma, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, or difficulty urinating.
Prostate gland problems, or if you are taking a blood pressure medication.
Doses and Administration:
The recommended adult dose is one teaspoonful every 4 hours as needed.
Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.
Consult your doctor for children’s dose.
Side Effects:
The most common side effects of this medication are drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and blurred vision.
Consult your doctor if you experience more serious side effects such as fast/irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, or seizures.
Interactions:
This medication may interact with other medications you are taking.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any new medication, including over-the-counter products.
Warnings and Precautions:
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.
