Description
Glycomet (Metformin) is an oral medication that is used to treat type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of drugs called biguanides, which work by decreasing the amount of sugar produced by the liver and increasing the sensitivity of cells to insulin. It is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, blindness, and kidney problems in people with type 2 diabetes. It is typically taken twice a day, with or without food.
