Description

METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE is an oral medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It works by decreasing the amount of glucose (sugar) produced by the liver and increasing the sensitivity of the body’s cells to insulin.

Direction of Use:

Take METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. The usual starting dose is 500 mg twice daily with meals. The dose may be increased gradually up to a maximum of 2,000 mg per day.

Contraindication:

METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney or liver disease, and in patients with metabolic acidosis. It should also not be used in patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
