Description
LINAGLIPTIN AND METFORMIN is a combination medication used to treat type 2 diabetes.
Direction of Use: Take LINAGLIPTIN AND METFORMIN as directed by your healthcare provider. It is usually taken once daily with or without food.
Contraindication: Do not take LINAGLIPTIN AND METFORMIN if you are allergic to linagliptin or metformin, or if you have certain medical conditions such as diabetic ketoacidosis or severe kidney or liver disease.
Doses and Administration: The usual starting dose of LINAGLIPTIN AND METFORMIN is one tablet containing linagliptin 5 mg and metformin 500 mg once daily. Your healthcare provider may adjust your dose as needed.
Side Effects: Common side effects of LINAGLIPTIN AND METFORMIN include diarrhea, nausea, and stomach upset.
Interactions: LINAGLIPTIN AND METFORMIN may interact with certain medications, such as blood thinners, birth control pills, and certain antibiotics. Tell your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking.
Warnings and Precautions: LINAGLIPTIN AND METFORMIN may cause lactic acidosis, a serious and sometimes fatal condition. Tell your healthcare provider if you have symptoms of lactic acidosis such as muscle pain, weakness, difficulty breathing, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or a slow or irregular heartbeat. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while taking LINAGLIPTIN AND METFORMIN.
