NACFIL is a medication that contains the active ingredient N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC). NAC is a form of the amino acid cysteine and is used as a mucolytic agent to help break down and remove mucus in the respiratory tract. It is also used as an antioxidant and to help prevent liver damage. NAC is used to treat conditions such as bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and it’s also used to help prevent liver damage caused by certain drugs and toxins.
