Description
Sitagliptin Phosphate and Metformin Hydrochloride is a combination medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. Sitagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor and metformin is a biguanide. Together, they work to lower blood sugar levels by increasing insulin production and decreasing glucose production in the liver.
Direction of Use:
Sitagliptin Phosphate and Metformin Hydrochloride is usually taken orally once a day with meals.
Contraindication:
Sitagliptin Phosphate and Metformin Hydrochloride should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to the medication, or in patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or severe kidney or liver disease.
Doses and Administration:
The usual starting dose for adults is Sitagliptin 100mg/Metformin 1000mg orally once a day. Doses may be increased as needed and as tolerated.

Interactions:
