Direction of Use: Linagliptin is usually taken once daily, with or without food. It should be taken at the same time each day.

Contraindication: Linagliptin should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis. It should also not be used in patients with a history of pancreatitis.

Doses and Administration: The usual starting dose of linagliptin is 5 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily if needed.

Side Effects: Common side effects of linagliptin include headache, upper respiratory tract infection, and urinary tract infection.

Interactions: Linagliptin may interact with other medications, such as metformin, pioglitazone, or sulfonylureas. It is important to tell your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking.

Warnings and Precautions: Linagliptin may cause an increased risk of pancreatitis. Patients should tell their healthcare provider if they have a history of pancreatitis or if they experience symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting.
