Description
Ciprofloxacin Ophthalmic Ointment is an antibiotic medication used to treat bacterial eye infections. It belongs to a class of drugs called fluoroquinolones.
Direction of Use: Follow the instructions given by your healthcare professional, usually it is applied to the affected eye(s) twice a day, usually in the morning and evening.
Contraindication: It should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or any other ingredient in the ointment.
Doses and Administration: The recommended adult and pediatric dosage for ophthalmic use is a small amount (about 1/2 inch) of ointment applied to the affected eye every 12 hours for 7-10 days.
Side Effects: Eye irritation, burning, itching, or stinging may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Warnings and Precautions: Do not touch the tip of the ointment tube to any surface, as this may contaminate the ointment. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before using this medication and wait at least 15 minutes after applying the ointment before putting your lenses back in.
